Sevilla - The capital of Andalucia. The city is on the river Guardalquivir and the 4th largest city in Spain. Many of the landmarks you will see in the city date from the Moorish period, the earliest evidence of the Moorish occupation being from the 10th Century . The city walls date from the Roman occupation during the 1st century B.C. and was the first Roman city to be established in Andalucia . It is known that the Phoenicians, Greeks, and the Carthaginians all established settlements here.
The rock of Gibraltar is a gigantic piece of Jurassic limestone which forms a craggy promontory, connected to the mainland of Spain. Gibraltar´s best-known attractions are of course the Barbary Apes or tail-less monkeys that roam freely with their inquisitive and usually friendly natures.
