    SEVILLA / CORDOBA /  ÉCIJA

The 3* Hotel Pilar has comfortable rooms, high standards of cleanliness, an outdoor pool and sunbathing area (seasonal), and is set amongst beautiful orchards in the countryside.

Including a full day trip to Sevilla and a full day trip to Cordoba: two of the most sought after cities in Spain. On the last day we also include a shorter visit to the less known but equally attractive city of Ejica.

Our experience starts with a relaxing journey from the Costa Blanca with carefully selected comfort stops en route to Andalucia. Situated in the south east of Spain is the country´s most populous region. With a total population of some 7 million people. Despite this, it offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire country.

Staying in the little town of La Carlotta at the Hotel Pilar. The air is clean and fresh,  and our country hotel room is large, comfortable and has all the things that we need. Downstairs is a restaurant, a large comfortable bar. At the front of the hotel is a pleasant terrace adjacent to the bar. Ideal for a relaxing drink after a day of sightseeing.

Day 2:  We are off to Sevilla, the flamboyant capital city of Andalucia. Home to the regional parliament. Here the river Guadalquivir is at its mightiest as its waters pour towards the sea.  Here you can take a mini cruise on the river. Use the tourist bus to take in the cities many sights, enjoy a carriage ride through the cities cobbled streets, visit the massive cathedral where Christopher Columbas is said to have been interned, Marvel at fabulous views from the height of cathedral tower, visit the "Maenstranza" bull ring - one of the most famous and most attractive bull rings in the entire country. Rest in the shade of the beautiful Maria Luisa park. Watch the world go by in the charismatic "Plaza España", learn about Andalucia in the Museum of Andalucian Culture. Trace the regions history through the archaeological museum. Then there is the Alcazar, the patio of oranges, the prison where Cervantes was incarcerated, the Torre de oro and so much more.

Day 3 day:  Sees you on the way to one of the prettiest towns in Spain – Cordoba – Capital of Muslim Spain for almost the entire period of Moorish rule. Yet with a history dating back to and far beyond the Roman occupation. Cobbled streets, horses and carriages, flower filled patios, an old Jewish district which houses one of only three medieval Synagogues still standing in Spain. Locally produced leather work and silver Jewellery are in evidence in the shop windows. The whole feeling of Cordoba is one of horses, carriages, Flamenco music and dresses, dark eyed girls with shiny black hair, sallow, rugged, olive skinned young men. In other words real authentic Spain. It is here that you can visit the breathtaking Mezquita, one of the most original buildings in the world, and uniquely combines a mosque with a cathedral.

Day 4: Our last day culminates in a visit to the little known but extremely interesting town of Ecija. Never, in any other town have we seen such a concentration of spires and towers. Ecija and many of its buildings herald from the Moorish culture which ruled medieval Spain.
